Does the MCU automatically take an oscillation stabilization period

Latest Updated:02/14/2006

Question:

When the MCU wakes up from the stop mode, does the MCU automatically take an oscillation stabilization period?

Answer:

No, it does not.
If the main clock is selected, when the MCU wakes up from the stop mode, the CPU clock becomes "the input clock divided by 8" automatically and the MCU does not need to wait for the clock to stabilize. Therefore, the MCU can start executing the program right away.
However, if you want to select the no division for the CPU clock, please make sure that the clock is in stable oscillation before switching the division ratio.
