What happens if you forget to address FFDA16 of function set ROM area?

Question:

(QzROM)  I forgot to program address FFDA16 of the function set ROM area, so it remains the initial default value of FFh. Upon testing, the CPU's basic functions seem to run correctly. Can this product be used? [2008/11/05]

Answer:

Correct performance of the product cannot be guaranteed if address FFDA16 has not been programmed. For information on programming the function set ROM, please refer to the M37545 datasheet.

Countermeasures:

  1. If the MCU is not ROM code protected:
    Program address FFDA16 properly and use the product.
  2. If the MCU is ROM code protected:
    The product should be abandoned.
