Which should I use if I have both a node-locked and floating license installed on the same PC?

Last Updated:05/17/2017

Question:

When a compiler with a node-locked license and an environment with a floating license (both licenses are for the same MCU) are installed on the same PC, which license should I use?

Answer:

Enabling or disabling the floating license can be selected.

When enabling, use the license in the following manner:

1. When either the node-locked license or the floating license is a professional version:

   The professional license takes precedence.

 1.1

When the node-locked license is a professional version

and the floating license is a standard version:

   Use the node-locked license.

 1.2

When the node-locked license is a standard version

and the floating license is a professional version:

   Use the floating license.

 1.3

When both licenses are professional versions:

   Use the node-locked license.

2. When both the node-locked license and the floating license are standard versions:

 2.1

   In case of CC-RH V1.05.00/CC-RX V2.06.00/CC-RL V1.04.00:

   Use the node-locked license.

 2.2

In case of a revision earlier than 2.1:

   Use the floating license.
