Setting Procedure: interrupt controller and peripheral module
Latest Updated:06/20/2013
Question:
Both the interrupt controller (ICU) and the peripheral module contain interrupt request enable bits. What is the setting procedure?
Answer:
To enable interrupt requests, first enable interrupts in the peripheral module, and then enable interrupt requests for the corresponding interrupt request enable bit (IEN) in the interrupt request enable register (IER) in the ICU.
To disable interrupts, with exception of cases where interrupts must be disabled in the peripheral module individually (when multiple sources exist for a single interrupt vector), interrupts can be disabled using only the IEN bit in the IER register in the ICU.
